SUMMARY

Field race Stands rail to Centre strip. Odd Race Shape with Halfway positions versus final placings suggesting a strong pace helping closers. But pace to halfway seem to be average and field spread over less than 6L. Final efforts start at usual point 2F out with a queue forming around the leaders as High Kickin & Bright Dictator had provided a lead for 4F but were starting to creak. Changes in places seem more a function of basic ability and how well the better newcomers had been prepared to see out the full 6.5f (the longest race of the year so far).
Quinlan stable used to get regular FTO wins but record 1 from 66 since start of 2006. String seem to have problems in last three years and overall Strike Rate down to moderate to poor levels. No sign of improvement this year until this win. Good horse or 'Green Shoot'?
