Field race Stands' Rail. Average pace with group within 2L of lead at halfway. Soraaya the smallest in Group but athletic and ready for the day (most professional and fitter) and always travel best. Trainer Channon's record with debuts at Hamilton since the start of 2002 is now 3 from 5 with one 2nd place. The three wins and the place have all been for the same owner and Ahmed Al Maktoum an important owner for the trainer and he will have the debuts readier than his average. Clearly taking a newcomer to Hamilton for this type of connection will probably mean it is OR78+ and ready to compete on the day. To continue the 'Better Prep' for the (older) Brothers Maktoum Mark Johnston has now had only two presentable debuts in 2009 and both for Hamdan Al Maktoum. Tawaashi biggish and strong for a filly and visibly different to Soraaya in this field and more like the two colts (both of whom were ok builds but NSB run too free and fade and DB not convince that he can move his bulk yet). Johnston coming into better form having not had a 2yo winner yet? |
