SUMMARY
Weak field on Profile unless Daas Rite develop from win, Thakeham a plot horse from Ireland (still part owned by trainer in Ireland) or Fahey's Sweet Cheeks ok.
Pace much too strong in mid-track amongst the horses with vaguely presentable form at the level and break the field up and bad fades from most of them. Thakeham persist best of the pace and some sort of targeted effort at winning the race. Collapse of frontrunners make SC win better and poor performance level.
Good indication of pace is to ask how Thirteen Shivers ended up finishing 10th just behind the likes of DR & KoC and well ahead of Silly Billy, He's The Star and Sarandjam. TS bungle the break and adrift off the back at halfway with a very inexperienced jockey on. Ended up looking 'Eyecatching' by picking up places without being asked much after being hampered towards the rail 1F out and going forward against the dead horses. Reality kicks in in 'Eyecatching' terms when you think about what the actual performance level of TS was. He Stablemate Silver Writer was held up and TS had got back to her just after halfway. SW get a clear run without the hampering and got to 6th. All the 'closers' were on the stands side and the pair that persisted bes from the pace (winner & Thakeham race closest to stands side and hang over to their in later race.). Just the forcing pace in centre track causing the faders there or some advantage racing closer to stands rail?
KoC perhaps worth another chance given he pressed the pace and raced wide. Would have kept on better but for getting unbalanced and not looking comfortable in the headgear.
