Messy race with mixed pace, problems at the break and some hampering later in race. SR break right handed and veer across FA and bump into MAM. These three in widest stalls. PAL driven early to lead and set a stiff pace. SR take off after bump and progress & head PAL after 0.5f and this pair going strongly with SIB nearly 3L back and niggled. Pace settled before halfway and field had close up to all be within 2L of the lead with SIB having made progress as pace settled to be on the rail within a neck of the lead. Late race efforts start before 2F out with SIB challenging and setting off SR with PAL immediately outpaced. Just modest changes through the final efforts. Most notable point being SIB making the best progress and going 1.5L clear. Stalled late and hanging but showed better effort in context of this group at weights. MAM the worst fader and unbalanced to the finish. Other 4 make slightly different efforts and stall at different points but not a lot of change and finish in a group. Jollywood unable to match the pace of the best of the early efforts but plugged on longer and able to pick up the stalling SIB & SR late on by persistence. |
