Stiff headwind in straight. Field go across to stands' rail in stright. EW allowed to set a solid, but usable, pace and stretch the race out by ability for the most part. EW not quite finish race off at uphill Carlisle LTO against a good colt (who ran in a Listed race in France recently) but showed good basic pace and a fluent action here and finish race off solidly. GMD set a stiff task by Fallon by being held back early and then being 4L of the leader at halfway as she set a usable pace. Made 2L back in straight so a solid effort but having raced prominently on her first two runs and not finished the race off the hold up tactics here a little overdone. Aurivorous confirm she has OR60s form and clear of the others. Those behind look a group of limited and small ones with perhaps one exception. Picking out horses trundling into faders of the size of quality of those at the back of this race not often a good idea. But, Instructress a classic 'Eyecatcher' in being too green to get involved early but got back to the little ones comfortably enough by 2F out. Jockey mostly inactive then but made some ground into the faders. As a sibling of 3 x 5F winners including two precocious 2yo fillies and racing for a reliable trainer who tends to front load the competitive ones (this his second runner of 2010) there are obvious circumstantial hints that she might be able to improve more than average. By a sire who might make her a 6f+ filly. |
