SUMMARY

HC set stiff pace in typical style for trainer & jockey. Put pressure on most of other runners and those not able to handle pace fase notably. Midfield at halfway close up to Thakeham & CD by 1F out and stalling themselves by the finish. HC 2L clear into the last furlong and not stall until late on and far enough clear to hang on.
Alhoni look to either lack pace or being somewhat unwilling, or both. 5-6L off lead at halfway and take time to close up on stallers. Still 7th 1F out and finally get past the stalling midfield runners intot he last 1F. not able to get to HC late.
AV getting back to the faders an indication of strongish pace and weak ones walking home. STO for Alan Swinbank so an interesting horse. But, drop to seller company suggest one the trainer is trying to cull rather than one of his STO blossomers. Antics by AV here suggest a get-rid type. Reared up after stalls opened and banged his head on the top bar. Drawn widest and veered left after getting back on 4 feet and out of the stalls to almost get to the far rail and jockey doing well not to get unseated. Crossed back to the stands rail and 30-40L adrift. Jockey ask for a little bit of effort around 1.5F out with faders now in vague view. Got back to them by the last 0.5F. Might be something there if he co-operates.
