Stalls stands' side. Field race off rail. Race below average pace and develop into a 2F sprint. Whole field within 2-3L of lead at halfway and green ones and slow starters able to get back to group comfortably. Leading pair of RL & Bakoura form up with both pulling to some extent. Turner on RL seem to delay making final effort until 1.5F out by which time Dettori on Tanfeer & Hills on Bakoura had already gone having made the usual 2F out effort. Tanfeer talked up as a good one and favourite on that. Trainer Suroor seems to be following a similar pattern to 2009 but shifted 2-3 weeks later. We have seen the small number of selected early runners in May and up to June 2nd. These will typically not be high class but will include a couple of useful winners. In 2009 he introduced a set of 2yos between mid-June through the Newmarket July meeting and the major meetings at the Weekend after that. These included higher class types like Poet's Voice, Sand Vixen & Buzzword. This year there was a gap between June 2nd until this week. Tanfeer presumably some version of Sand Vixen level. [Trainer Zarooni either has a diferent remit from Sheikh Mohammed to Suroor having already run around 25 horses and 14 made debuts in May, or is being allowed to try something different.] Smaller type but ok build. Going well enough for Dettori not to want to wait for other's to start the late race sprint. Jump to lead comfortably and show good effort. But, slower race and clearly suited her. Bakoura produce second best effort and go to clear second. Buzzy in prelims and sweating but held herself together to run well. Presume OR80+. RL partly outpaced by other two and take longer to produce her effort. But, not helped by giving the others 1-2L start and building up momentum before making her effort. 3rd best and presume OR71-4 area. |
