Field race stands' rail. Slower time and with long SP BoB & MS able to set a below average pace and turn race into a 2F effort. BoB & MS able to hang on to be in first three into last 1F but not seeing the race out. Stronger pace and they would presumably have been beaten further. Enough of a split in ability between the 4 x usable ones (SPs 10/1 & under) and the other 4 big enough to sort them out by the line. Way the race develop might mean the four usable ones were not fully 'sorted' by ability. SP too green to compete on debut then got into the main group late on in a way that looked more than just plugging on. Supported here and had advanatge of sitting closest to pace. Just an ordinary effort to get to the lead and not strong form. ALBD out of a 5f dam and trainer tends to try to get wins at 5-6f. Stayed on in seller FTO over 6f. Similar here and outpaced initially as the 2F out efforts made. Responding towards the last 1F (in centre track) & still 6th. Looking best at the finish and seems a stayer that would surprise the trainer and take him time to find. Zakon held up last at 4.5L off pace in slower race and then have to switch to centre track to make progress.. Ok effort in that and can show up better if can race more prominently. Very green on debut so this an ok development effort in that context. CC ran better than final result. Making similar run to Zakon from a bit further forward but blocked to the last 1F and lose 2L and not able to get restarted full afterwards. Zakon able to switch wider as ths blcok occurred to get around CC. |
