Good time and seemed like real improved performances by the front two. Treat the ratings with a little caution but the way the first two pulled away strongly from the others (even with their off-the-rail excuses) suggest better efforts by them. Line of three form up after 0.5f forcing pace with, from the rail out, TTIG, LH & LAv. Classic example of how racing even 1 lane off the rail can be a real negative and LH not helped by that but still faded more than you would like late. Appalling ride by jockey on LAv in context. If you have not managed to force your way to the lead with your early effort then drop back and in an take your chances later in the race. Belting along 2 horses off the rail, on firmer going, is suicidal. LL improving with racing and now he is being ridden to suit his ideal power output. Has a better crusing speed when settled and can produce a short forward burst off it. This does not last long then he has faded in his earliest races. Able to settle on the preferred rail behind the L-of-3 and travel fine. Able to make forward move to engage TTIG but then only able to nudge past her as she responded and his effort probably petering out. But, pair pulling clear in solid time. On balance, likely to come up short in Listed races. TTIG effort seemed a real step forward even given the rail run. Saw off two colts then responded strongly in the straight. Much improved rating but probably real and last three races partly masked that development. Good debut then never happy nor wanting to get involved STO. Solid run 3TO but left behind by Excello which made her look less good. But, Excello has proved a better one when she can control her fizziness. Modest rating last time for her win but beating moderate horses so not tested as she was here. If you looke for supporting evidence she has filled out a little and her pedigree says she ought to be a faster 5f 2yo. |
