Going official GF but times not support that. Watering and times more Good going level. Stalls stands' side. Field race towrds centre track. Average pace at best and close group at halfway with Zachynthus in 6th but barely 2L off the lead. CC a major eyecatcher on debut and travelling ok in second. Horse badly injured and pulled itself up immediately because unable to use it's Near Fore (not the jockey's decision). Watch the Video of the Start and you could convince youself the injury started then. Jinks right out of the stalls and plants the Near Fore in an awkward position and it flexes in a manner it probably isn't supposed to. Trainer Simcock said Maher similar quality to horse called Mubtadi than finished unplaced on debut at Doncaster earlier in the day. TBOP another poor debut for trainer Johnston and 2yos still not convincing as being in any worthwhile form. |
