SUMMARY

5mm of rain overnight.
Pace built with 4 of the runners (without BD) in a line on the downhill section. CF lack size & pace to say with this line. Mayson up pace before 2.5F out without any strong effort and put others under pressure. RR keep up for longest but another smaller, sub-OR70 one, and fading int he last 1F.
GB bigger than the two small ones but fading by 1.5F out and does not appear to stay much more than 4f.
More vague interest in BD as the biggest in the group aside fromtthe winner although lacking that ones neatly made porportions and overall strength. Unable to get balanced at any point on the undulations at Ripon on debut and last. Similar here and after being held back initially could not go the pace on downhill section. Head up and giving the horse the benefit he does not carry his size yet and backs off when he starts to get unbalanced. Perhaps worth giving him the benefit because he produced the response you would expect when he got onto the uphill section which enable him to get balanced. Still not looking enthusiastic but picked up the rabbits and faders and not stopping in a volunteer 2nd to the line. Check whether he is a nursery developer. Seems to need the right sort of track at present. Round the bend at downhill Catterick probably make him look like Bambi-on-ice, for example.
