SUMMARY
Moderate to poor race on profile. Slow time with OR75 older handicapper able to run 81.74s and this more a GS, or softer, going time. Whole field packed within 2.5L of lead at halfway. All of field handled the downhill run and Tattenham Corner comfortably at pace set.
New Zealand jockey (presumably on first Epsom ride) decided to get a jump on the others and progressed up the open rail to lead inside 3F out. Which surprised Dobbs who knows most local jockeys would abide by the rules as 2F out is when to make your efforts. Dobbs gave his horse time to respond and wear down the smaller horse and be going away at the finish. Slow pace and giving two other horses a start in a sprint & letting them get a job on them put the other four in a difficult spot. All some combination of slower, 8f+, prospects and suspect ability and put into a 2.5F sprint on a camber.
PV typical response and look slow but did respond in the final 1F and going on at the finish as if a longer distance and a more even pace would help. RR a taller, narrower galloper and still a frame of a horse and green with it. Sibling of three horses who failed to make any impact at 2yo and started winning at 10f as 3yos. Didn't show anything to make you think he isn't another who needs the time to develop.
Poor form and not a race to follow on ability actually demonstrated. Ratings on the generous side possibly.
