SUMMARY
Moderate race and average pace.
Jockey on KC appeared locked in to only having one opponent from the start. Made short effort from stalls to hold the rain and keep MoM in lane 1. MoM did a lot of things wrong starting with running freely and then hanging right on the tight bend. Not balanced intot he straight and KC press on at this point to get a short lead. These two then together for rest of straight with KC hanging right into MoM for the whole of the last 1.5F. Two bumps which unbalanced both horses. MoM seemed intimidated for a lot of the straight but not progressing from debut win and showed similar lack of 'go' when in the challenging group LTO.
KC a poor short favourite given her moderate form level. Setting OR60s level only.
Wotsthehurry an early AW runner for trainer of the types that is normally OR68-73 and runs a lot and treated as expendable. Solid first run in a race which has proved stronger than it looked. STO she managed to be awash with sweat and fizzy on a cool, wet day. Her attitude had gone into unfocuseed boilover mode before the race. Ran like that was the case and long break until running here. Still buzzy but kept it under control. Has been entered for a seller as well but trainer can do that for these expendable types while wondering where they fit in the OR range. Wrong price at 20/1 for a horse of only slightly lesser ability than KC. With that one making trouble for itself left race open for a win with a competent 60s performance.
