Stalls stands' side of outer course. Field race rail with SE leading along the rail attended by MMA & SH. VE in second rank behind at 1.5L. 5-6th through halfway at 2-3L with other three spread back. Ishbelle at 9L and weaving around and very green. Jockey on SH leaning out to the left for much of the first half of race and horse always offering to go left. Saddle slip or Jockey lose iron? Horse look in good condition if a bit too buzzy and trainer had first 2yo winner earlier in day (stable 2yos into better form?). But not look that focussed and disappeared off partly through a rail when let go To Post (Picture). Blind on adenaline. Did the jockey ever get that saddle sorted out? Picture - of Finish. Ishbelle an obvious 'Eyecatcher' working her way from 9L back to 2nd and doing it from 2F out and not just picking up faders. Tallest in field and solid build in front if a little narrowed bodies. Proved she can move herself ok. Sibling of two owner bred 2yos for same connections that won FTO/STO. BBC lose ground after 1.5F for no apparent reason and need whip to get going again. Solid forward effort inside 2F out. But, small and no scope to develop so needs to find something to win at the level she has shown. Kokojo 3rd on debut in a baffling race at Windsor where the two later winners finished out the back (for different reasons). Some moderate Profiled finished 2nd-4th after being out the back early. Race looked like a strong pace with a good winner breaking the best of the other fillies and allowing the moderate fillies to post 'empty' quality places. Kokojo 3rd since but in a very weak race and 3rd was behind the Garbage Gap despite the big field. Review here showan ok height but very light framed and narrow bodied. Underpowered and puts 3rd places in context as moderate efforts. More interest in VE as one to follow to next run than Ishbelle (a perfectly good prospect for STO but perhaps over-bet given this effort and her connections). VE probably 2nd-3rd best physical type and seems to be being brought along as a development project similar to Totally Invincible in 2009. That filly won 3TO and strongly supported after an unplaced runs and a 4th. Fretwell here and talking to the trainer as the horses came back. One to check NTO to see whether Fretwell and the trainer think she is ready to show up better. |
