SUMMARY

Fast conditions on day. This the first race of the meeting and officially on 'Standard' but going changed to 'Standard to Fast' after it. Class 6 3yo seller bunch got under 61s for 5.1f in the next race.
Thin race and left more open for newcomer with Restless Bay proving to be one of those over-prepared (too fit) 2yos that show promise on debut then regress.
Major Muscari understandable strong debut for trainer who has produced them before and this an expensive 2yo by his standards. His juveniles slowly soming into form this season.
Tedsmore Dame seemed to be winning on ability more than preparation and much less competent than MajorM. Running around in the straight until finally getting the message when swicthed to centre track inside the last 1f. Trainer has onlyhad 10 x 2yos in the period 2002-9 and never had a placed debut. His only previous winner was in 2003 STO after an unplaced debut at 100/1. Bigger type in field and doing in on being better than the opposition.
Fairly obvious 'Eyecatcher' with Polar Auroras given a quiet ime from the widest stall and getting to a remote 6th for mild urging. Usual worry about what the progress actually amounts to in absoluate form terms. But the sort of thing that will turn up on TV Eyecatcher lists without worrying about quality. You could lump in King Cobra as another given a quiet time and finding some reason to slow up a bit whenever the horse seemed to be getting into a bit of a rhythm.
