SUMMARY
Stiff Headwind. 5mm of rain since start of racing yesterday.
Field race centre and a poor ride by three of the jockeys. They allowed Ryan Moore to set his own, slower, pace and choose when to make the efforts. This meant he could turn the race into a 2F sprint with him knowing he was going to up the pace a little before the final efforts to get a little extra separation. To make the point Fallon on APinot was a around 1.5L back when the initial effort went and ended up being beaten just over half a length. So actually covered the last 2F a little faster than MT but set a very difficult task.
HP biggest in the field and a taller, narrower bodied type in the field. Slightly outpaced by the first two when the efforts went and looked more of a galloper than a chang-of-pace type. Kept at it and his stride meant he was making a little ground back into the last 1F until stalling late on.
GQ smallest and compacter filly and set an impossible task at 3L off the lead when the effots went. Slightly outpaced when the efforts went and plugged on at her own pace to the line. Beaten 3L at the finish so got things back to the halfway status by the finish.
