SUMMARY

Field came stands side in the straight.
Solid pace and technical nature of course with tight bend and downhill drop to straight put many under pressure for pace and balance. TC a typical Johnston presser and able to avoid a lot of those problems by setting the pace on the rail and putting pressure on the others.
BD has looked bigger type but too weak to carry his weight and hanging at times when under pressure. Running at this course looked a poor idea on his previous efforts. Did fine pressing on from a wide draw in the back straight to get across to the rail in second. Started to creak on the bend and then lost ground on the turn to the straight and not able to handle the sharp downhill turn.
TC a good effort to get from being caught out wide in the back stright to gradually make progress to 3rd into the straight. Then a solid effort to get to the lead.
CPJ made pretty empty looking 'Eyecatcher' progress on debut in a fast race that fell apart to some extent. Broken by trying to attend the pace STO. At a shorter SP here for some reason but another lighter framed leggy type to find the turn to the straight asking too much of his strength and balance and losing ground. Struggled a little with the back straight pace as the field pressed on to get a good positions and never really going smoothly.
