0.6s slower than Division II & a slower pace. First eight compressed into just over 4L at halfway and stacked out from the rail behind the leader. Dettori on Introvert got everything his way including the horse bursting the stall a little early and getting a length lead immediately. Again then we had the sight of all the other jockeys looking at the hot favourite and reacting to what that one was doing rather than trying to win. Dettori treated with almost reverence and allowed to set the pace he wanted and cross to the rail, unhindered, when he felt it was time. Increased the pace a little downhill and then make the final effort into the straight. Only slight issue was Tagansky actaully trying to beat him and having the ability to engage him in the straighted for 1F+ before stalling. One of those thin races where you wonder what form 'Franking' actually means. This winner and that of Division II both placed in a suspect Newmarket maiden and have been comfortably beaten since in better races. So the form looks to have been hugely 'Franked' but by wins in weak races. Presumably some form of OR70s form. Upping the pace on the downhill section by Dettori had an alarming effect on the field and went from a close packed set to spread over a long distance into the last 2f. Only the first 2 in the race for the win at that point. A set of slow looking horses behind. So Choosy woth another chance although in the group that looked very slow. Slow break and then hampered as she tried to pick up. Then ran freely and hanging into centre track after 2F. Ran wide overall and going ok until the pace increased. Left behind then and jockey quickly accepted it. Looks a galloper and may need further but has the size to develop and minor issues here meant she never got going. |
