SUMMARY
Field race away fromt he Far Rail.
Mixed pace race. Tiny & limited MT led for 2f having broken best. Others held in behind. Pace set too slow for bigger horses and FF led before halfway and up the pace a little. Ok effort inside the last 2f and won a little comfortably but a moderate overall performance. Horse looks to be growing up and more professional and moving straighter now despite the firm ground.
Rigoletto smaller than winner but a strong build and a solid debut. Not pressed to try to engage the winner and chugged along in 2nd.
Ron Harris interviewed before race and said he was disappointed with DV's last run at Leicester and thought the horse was not trying and therefore the Cheekpieces. Driven along and whipped before halfway and not looking comfortable late on and fading after a moderate response. Trainer said he like the stock by the new sire and solid builds and look sprinters. But, probably less precioius and need more time to develop than trainers' have thought.
