SUMMARY
Slower pace and race develop along the rail.
Could make a good case that Hills on Bakoura lost this race because of his emphasis on not giving horses any more to do that he has to. This may be coming down from the owner but his ride on Elzaam in the Coventry a high profile example where head down getting on with it might have seen a win. More of the same here. Going comfortably outside leader SL who was on the rail and knew he had her covered. Delaying his final effort because he thought he had it won. Leader got unbalanced and started to roll off rail allowing a small gap for OWO to push through from second rak. Jockey on the Hannon filly stoked her up before Bakoura and going forward to the gap to nick the lead by a neck going to the last 1f. Hills looked surpised to see another filly involved and now in 'reacting' mode rather than getting on with it. Bakoura picked up and plugged on but never got the neck back but did not lose any more. Hmm.
