Below average pace.Typical shape to 7f race here. Slow pace leading to an advanatage to prominent races and a 2F sprint uphill in effect. Uphill nature often means that those further back can make some ground late on and look eyecatching without ever being competitive to win. LAgain benefitted from an easy lead and starting late race sprint in best spot. Responded well in the last 2f and trying hard. 2nd & 3rd not finish in leading places for different reasons. ASpirit plug on well enough in second but failed to see the 7f out and lost ground in the last 0.5f. Partly because of Hughes easing her. Miss Boops not pick up in the last 2F and moving awkwardly and soon fading and eased. Cochabamba confirm promise of debut and do well to make 2L back on the leader after halfway. Good size and athletic with it. FH a good example of trying to judge what her late race plugging on amounted to. Did well in the context of how green she was overall and 8L back at halfway and niggled along. Eventually beaten just over 3L but never produced a forward effort, at any point, to match first two home & AS. Picking out ground by staying on late. |
