SUMMARY

Slow pace and a race that depended upon Jehanbux or a better newcomer for a higher quality performance. The first of those never travelling smoothly and then hindered by the slow pace in trying to make ground against the longer SP horses that had a soft time in front. Was getting to the leaders late on and may well have hauled himself past them with another 0.5f. Other 'flashier' FTO at shorter SP ran too freely early and then green and fading early (seemed not to be carrying weight fully through race yet, unlike the chunky winner) left an open race and pace meant not a race to take literally on relative quality gounds between the runners.
