SUMMARY
Race run at an average pace although the halfway positions to final placings suggest a more searching pace. But, possible those places tell a story about the the quality, development potential and handling the course.
JG the biggest in the field and has improved for leading at comfortable paces but lower quality and not able to see races out. On pedigree and size you wonder why he is already on his 7th outing. AS touted as trainer's best 2yo (still 8/1 on debut n a weak race) but gave a part green and part ouchy performance here. Never picked up and gave impression he was not enjoying the ground. IR smaller and ready filly and stepping up to 6f. Not see the extra distance out on this stiff finish and also seemed overpowered by bigger males (who can move themselves efficiently unlike JG) who have the physical scope to develop. Which means the 1st to 3rd through halfway finishing behind the 4-6th probably had other factors than pace.
Exceleberation has the size to develop and backed here as if he is coming along strongly and this race a prep for something at Group level. LS a solid marker horse with less scope andran his race.
