Picture - of the finish. Slower time overall and 0.39s slower than the earlier fillies' maiden but this winner carrying 3lbs more. Field race Centre Stands' rail strip. Field kicking up divots and both LoP & RoyR getting unbalanced on the downhill section and losing ground. Seemed difficult to make strong efforts or make quick ground in later race. Winner slipped over after the line and took a long time to return to the Winners' Enclosure. Jockey Munro (replacing injured Spencer) reported that the ground was 'Greasy' and the horse had done nothing wrong and just slipped over on the right hand bend straight after the winning post that makes the pull up. Race developed into a 2F+ sprint with making ground difficult and a number of green and quietly handled ones in the midfield. LoP solid OR75+ type but lost ground on downhill section and probably did ok to make some ground to 3rd in the later efforts before stalling. Alajmal another narrow bodied type from Johston who is not a 6f horse and needs futher and outpaced by the way the race developed and jockey not ask for much. KK racing more forwardly and unable to raise the pace for the 2F sprint and coming back a little to the front two later on. Jockey said after he would be a 7f type. RoyR a usable OR70+ type but clearly not straightforward. Withdrawn on his intended debut after kicking his jockey while trying to be mounted in the Parade Ring. Utterly clueless in early race and rolling about on the downhill section. Some response later and can clearly do much better if he grows up mentally. RMooch given a very quiet time and clearly being brought along for Nurseries or seller/claimers. Attended the pace ok and handled the downhill comfortably (racing towards mid-track which might have been less greasy). Small but bulky sprinter type. Seemed to have grown a little and might well be usable at a lower level. |
