Picture - of the finish with the first two home. Picture - of the 3rd+ Finishers. Stalls Centre of outer course. Field start racing centre track but work over towards Far Side by halfway following SClad. That one very fit on the day and setting a stiff pace and 2L clear after 2F and cross to Far Rail by halfway. Poplin in last towards halfway 9L back in Centre track alone and playing catch-up to the pace and to track position. Wide disparity in abilities along with mental and physical readiness for the day. Pressure applied by SC broke the race up and made those disparities fully apparent. Race a fair reflection of abilities depending upon the view of Poplin and the second barely OR70 and the wrong side of the Changeover Point. Warm Breeze stood out of Profile on price, pedigree and connections. Stood out in Preview and clearly the best type by some way and ready enough. Cruised through the first part of the race listening to the jockey and making him look good, Smooth progress to close 2-3L to the leader from 3F to 2F out and then go on. Pretty full ride and stalling very late. Clearly OR84+ but just and average Listed level prospect. Her win took her trainer's record with FTOs in 2010 to 8 goes, 6 wins, 1 x second and and unseat by a horse clear in the lead late on who has gone on to win his next two races up to Listed level. No messing about and 'Nice Intros' for Mr Jarvis. SClad lacking the winners bulk and light framed which will limit her. But, competent and very fit on STO. Might be OR70 but not Open Maidne winner type. BDictator as big as SC and more substantially built. Also very fit and able to look after herself to some extent in this pace test. But, lengthy and dip-backed and on the evidence of her runs, this included, that meams she lacks pace and can just kep her pace going. That got her left behind by the leading pair as they pressed on after halfway. Poplin smaller and unexciting type. Neat and just OK. Owns an 8f+ development pedigree, lacks fitness and is clearly too green in the prelims to be competent in the race. 4/1? You can have that all day. Wind them up and offer 5/1 after laying 4/1 and then keep going up to whatever you like. Hauled herself past the garbage late on and presume will be 7f+ next time. Gaps back to the rest and poor efforts. Duguesa might be seller class but later Evans' debuts rarely produce 2yo winners. HTE ought to be usable OR60s with development. |
