Rail in & fresh ground on top bend. 4mm of rain overnight and 10mm of watering to back straight and top bend. Sinadinou probably a 'Social' runner .Smaller type and although fit and knowing just a lesser type than the bigger lads in the field. Did his bit setting enough of a pace to stretch the field out a bit. Faster pace would have produced more of a test but seems a stronger race overall and the first 3 solid OR80+ types and good development prospects for the 4-6th finishers. Hannon stable target Goodwood with better types and debut runners at the May meetings and this one often better class. Had a notably good Meeting here winning 7 of the 9 juvenile events (with Hughes annoyed about missing out narrowly on an 8th with necomer Big Issue). Hannon has won 11 of the 18 juvenile races here this year and the debut runners have been mixed but with highlights. The debut runners her in May for the stable included later Group winners Memory & Casual Glimpse. This his only debut winner at this meeting but the quality of the runners with previous outings in this maidens often set difficult tasks for newcomers. Pausanias talked up by the Hannons in pre-Goodwood previews along with Big Issue and delivered. |
