Rain overnight and changed going. Rail out on Far Side but immaterial with most fields coming over to race on the stands' rail. Leader take field in this race across as soon as they had passed to 0.5f marker. Races suggest an advantage for racing closer to the stands' rail compared to away from it. Winner here race Lane 1 off stands' rail but drift off it around 1.5f out before going back & strong finish there. 2nd plug on late along it. Little Libretto run next to rail but easily outpaced by others inside 2F out and look small in field of fillies. DV a little bigger and better built. SC similar siz to DV & poss less build. Other three slightly bigger with RG prob tallest & Ok build with SWIB heaviest build. Strong wind presumably as a part tailwind with times not in line with GS going and fields going out to stands' side on outer of right hand dogleg. Last two winners of race have run down far rail recording 62.3s (on Good carrying 3lbs less by Foundation Room) & 62.37s (on GFF by OR72 Leleyf). Times under 62s often indicate a higher class runner unless the ground gets very quick (which Clerks of Course rarely allow now). Suspiciously quick time and Dingle View has shown something a little different in each run. Finished well against a rail bias on debut, strong finish LTO and showed the same here. Winners of this race tend to top out around OR85 except for the best of the Hannon fillies. Race can often be much thinner and OR70s types beating OR60s kit depite the Class 3 tag, as in 2009. She seems to have something better than a OR70s type, at least. Worth noting she is by sire Mujadil who has a good record of producing precocious 2yos that do not always progress. He had no runners last year but is back in 2010. Trainer of The Sydney Arms told the stwards she had 'Choked' after the race. |
