Rail out but seemed to be a slower pace. Final efforts started a little early with Ajtebi on Bowermaster making ground wide 2.5f out. Buick on JC travelling well at this point and respond and slight effort to get to the lead. This early kick caught Hughes on leader Jehanbux by surprise. But, Buick then allowed JC to hang right cutting KS & Jehanbux up and dropping them second rank 2-3L back. JC duel with Bowermaster until towards the last 1f when that one faded. Another Zarooni 2yo either not progressing or regressing after the first 1-2 runs. Perhaps not staying but an early fade even so off this pace. As at Ascot Jehanbux came acros as a stayer who needs time to get stoked up. Took him most of the two furlongs he had after being cut up to get back to JC but on top late and going on at the finish. JC probably a bit more natural speed and had ben a little green in front and found some response once joined. Ratings of those suspect given the final time and probable that the first two are the Open Maiden types and the gap back from them significant. Bowermaster clearly OR75+ but niggle about Zarooni methods at present. |
