SUMMARY
Rail out by 18 yards at race start and narrowing down to 7 yards by the finish. Fields raced stands side. Runners in later older handicap went far side in the last 3f. FC ran the rail well and probably did not have to improve to win. AStar got cut off on the rail early and had to work to find a run wide and slightly underperformed. Lesser effort from Hughes. DBoard had been sold by Fretwell before the horse ran at Ascot and not a strong effort there. Not progressing and early fade here.
Worth noting that BBayardo has an OR of 99 now although this not a handicap. Giving weight to others but still well up in ratings by OR versus weights carried. But 14/1 and a moderate run. Good example of BHA 'Literal' handicapping. The last Bath win appears to have been rated by Tester by taking the gaps back to the placed fillies as gospel but with no reference to time and the absolute form level. Market seems not to believe that win was worth OR99.
