SUMMARY

Average pace and dificult to make places and ground. Channon pair make up the last pair and 4L+ back on turn to straight and no chance. Different rides from two jockeys. SC held up and never put in the race and a bit of airy-fairy whip waving towards the last 1f. SB look reluctant from the start and niggled along for most of the race apart from when the jockey was having to fully drive him. Both are members of a set of early season starters for Channon who have run a lot and now in nurseries. A fair number of this set seem to have solid chances of competing off the ORs they now have on early season form but have not gone well. This is the type the trainer eventually gets another win with through pure persistence. Eventually they get down to an OR mark they can win off or stumble into an Empty or Broken Race along the way. But, are this group underperforming at present because of the workload or going sour or is Early season form even easier to over-rate than anyone (let along the BHA handicapper) might htink.
