Very slow time. OR72 older handicapper ran next race in 4.31s faster carrying 9lbs more than this winner. Menadati got away with soft lead and going on clear to a comfortable win. Jockey then decides to ease him 0.5f out and GDuchy (green overall and rolling about inside 2f out) finds where 3rd gear is soon after and Menadati just lasts out and difficult to restart once eased on the hill. Full marks to anyone shouting 'Do not do that you pillock' at Durcan on the winner as he came into the last 1f but with his body language intimating he was about to do something to invite an accident. Just push the things out H-n-H, what is the problem. Tmaam the Johnston rep in a race he has won for the last two years and 2003 along with several other August wins at the distance. Has won 18 x 7.5f events at the track since 2002 and a set-up that plays to his staying horses who like to run prominently. But, debut wins rare unless useful and only 3 of the 18 including group winner Drumfire & useful 2yo Baan (whose lack of size limited his development). |
