SUMMARY
 First 2yo win of season for AM Balding. 2009 a good year and, probably as expected, not followed up with good following year. Trainer said after this race he had a couple who 'went better than this one'.
Not a stiff pace but enough to spread the field out reasonably well. The likely OR70+ ones seemed to separate themselves in first and second and probably into the sub-OR70s after that and not strong profiles to be Open Maiden or Auction winners. Taking 2009 as a reminder there were two divisions of this race with 25 horses in. They produced two later winners in the Turf season (Auction & Nursery off OR68 for development project). One Division that year won by Baldings' Dromore (unplaced off OR80 in nurseries afterwards) from Joe Packet (unplaced off OR7& but has fulfilled the potential he showed at 2yo as a 3yo). Probably got a similar set up her with two OR80-75 and then back into the ruck. Catalyze a notably straight mover and a trier and ought to compete better in nurseries than Dromore did.
With the caveat of overall quality in place a couple of efforts behind to note. Alshazah a typical STO improver for Millman and ran better than final position. Ok size and prominent for a long way and produced a solid effort at 2f out. Late race fade somewhat hide that promise.
Mountain Range seemed to do something a bit 'different' at a low level. Got himself adrift in last through a slow start and general greenness. Got back to 5th and going forward at the line for just H-n-H fromt he jockey.
