Pace Strong and race separated into competitive set of three and the 'Rest' early. LL & CA hook up early and press on with LL pressing on again by halfway to clear CA and get to the rail. Sharnberry only other involved and racing around 2.5L off the lead. Others held back with some also being green and Hoot 5L back at halfway with next 3 at 8L and Marmaduke given a peculiar ride in being held back until adrift and then the pilot inactive. Pace seemed too strong with LL fading by the last 1f having made the late race effort soon after halfway. Sharnberry able to get to the lead unpressed and Hoot never competitive and trundle into 2nd. Lord of Persia looked promising on debut but poor run STO and 10/1 here. Another to be held out of the race by the jockey and looked like a 3O run before nurseries. Sharnberry one of two maiden winners from the midfield of the Glorious Goodwood fillies' 6f maiden to bring the total to 3. That race slowly run and runners finished in a clump so not easy to separate out the promising ones from the sub OR75 ones. |
