Average pace, at best, and no-one much interested in trying to compete with LLArab except perhaps Callan on AK for a couple of moments. Much too dangerous for your 'OR Future'. Field had split into 6 at the front within 3.5L of the leader early on. With the other six strung out behind a gap. Last six not 'outpaced' by a stiff pace but some mix of too useless or stupid to keep up or strangled by the jockey. No mixing of the two groups after halfway. Little change within the two groups either. Only change in leading six was the Meehan newcomer Proenza, who ran a bit freely in Lane 1 with the leader, fading as you would expect from a debut from that stable. LAA again unexciting in the effort he produced and does not look like one to follow in, presmably, nurseries given the relative clobbering he will get as Godolphin maiden winner. (OR76 wouldn't be a bargain). Royal Reverie nutty and green in previous two runs. Mounted in closed box, jockey looking scared before cantering to post. That sort of thing. This an improvement in that sense and a competent run through the race and listening to the jockey and running in a straight line. Not asked to get involved but presumably now ready to go to nurseries. 7lbs apprentice on IvanV was hopefully asked in by the stewards to ask what he was playing at. Hauling your horse to be adrift in a slower race then not bothering to move much in the straight isn't acceptable. Nothing listed on the BHA website to suggest the WTON stewards did anything. |
