NR | Silver Angel | M. R. Channon | 7 | NR = Vet's Cert (Lame) | ||||||||
|
Probably another example on the day of a Trainer sticking Two Fingers up to Racing. Working the OR Handicapping system blatantly is one way. Not bothering to abide by the 'spirit' of the Non-Runner system is another. Last week trainer Channon declared Barista for 3 races in 4 days. One on Days 1-2 then a gap day and then Day 4. Presumably at some point (perhaps looking at the decs) he decided the Day 2 option was best. Get out of the Day 1 dec by getting a Vet's Cert for a 'Bruised Foot'. Has to be a Vet because a 'Self Cert' would mean he couldn't run for a few days. Then take up the Day 2 option and run. Then use the Self Cert system to be an NR on Day 4 using the 'Bruised Foot' excuse. Which seems like taking the mickey. Since he has run two days before why not just use the 'Not Eaten Up' or 'Stiff' excuses everyone else does for such occasions. Silver Angel an NR here with a Vet's Cert as 'Lame'. Has a declaration two days later in a maiden rather than a seller (perhaps they have decided not to risk losing her). Interesting to see whether she recovers from her lameness in time. |
