SUMMARY

Pace one the too strong side as the Halfway positions to final placings suggest. Closers assisted by field spreading out in straight with the winner racing cenre track and many of the leaders ending up stands' side as MLF drifted that way from early in the straight. Both Freckenham & deep Closer Blackleyf railed well and ran Far Side in the straight to be running shorter distances as well as picking up faders.
In the context of how the race developed you would mark up the efforts of MLF & Avalon Bay. The first assisted with pressing the pace and did best of those that did despite running a little freely. Fading notably later on though but having got enough of a break from his effort not to be caught by the second wave of horses bumbling on from being outpaced in the first half of the race. ABay is on a usable OR but his last two races have not been run in a way to enable him to compete. Got behind in a 5f race here LTO and impossible to get back to the leaders on that course if that happens. Here he end up running wide around the bend here and never able to settle properly. Able to produce a real forward effort at 2F out but caried wide and fading late on. Ought to be able to win of fthis OR when a similar race set-up and draw allows him a tracking ride in second rank for less effort.
