Impressive bit of front-running by Magic Casement assisted by a comfortable lead on the rail after some pressure for that rail early. Typical Adrian Nicholls pressing ride. After some meetings where the rail seemed 'Dead' and making ground wide seemed possible the normal bias seemed in place. Winner had reduced the others who tried to chase him to fading and tiring by just inside the last 1f. Both IB & BR racing 2 wide throughout and trying to make efforts there and a negative to their performance. Trainer Brisbourne said he wished he had missed the previous day's race with BR and confirmed she was too high in the handicap now. SIShe best of the Closers, more than 5L off the lead at halfway and not trying to chase the winner, and had run the rail including when being blocked by the faders inside 1.5f out. |
