Pace much too strong. Back straight looked like the home straight with big efforts up front, field well stretched out, everything behind midfield scrubbed along or driven. One of two photo-finishes in the 2yo races on the card which just felt 'Wrong'. The other was Darwin Start not hanging on for 3rd. Both were similar with the horse beaten in the photo a couple of lengths clear of a Centre track Closer late on but stalling themsleves. Looked close but the immediate reaction with both was that the horse ahead had just hung on. Wrong both times. Enough to start looking at the replay to see what went wrong. Have they set the photo up right? Looking at the finishes leaves much the same feeling and both are very similar. The Finishing Posts at the Course are beyond the photo finish line and under the floodlights the Posts are what stands out. Something to fix. |
