SUMMARY

Pace look to build in stages. First furlong below average as field sorted itself out. 4 break well in a line with Klammer a length slow. Orientalist held out of line immediately and drop in behind MSM on rail. SIShe run too freely and fought jockey when he tried to hold her back. This left Alf & MSM in leading pair next to far rail. Klammer switch out and move up to 3rd after around 2F outside the held back pair. Pace increase around halfway and build to around 2F out (i.e. the efforts stared early in the race & helped the final time). SIS dropped by this and little response. Orientalist driven along soon after halfway and a little outpaced.
Klammer move up comofrtable through this furlong to join leading pair and take narrow lead at 2F out and make an effort. MSM respond & challenge and Alf respond well enough to stick with them until lose ground from around 1F out. K & MSM hook up and duel until the last few stride with MSM stalling. Both horses very willing in the duel.
