Race run in 2.59s slower than the following 2yo conditions event. Hints of Stands' Side advantage during day and winner here raced furthest over as field went centre. But late meeting sprint had field spread across entire track and stands' side runners fared worst. Perhaps pace realted as that group gave the far side a good head start. Perhaps just Stands' Side and the Rail better than Centre-Stands strip. Winner here under pressure to go the pace by halfway and driven along. Unable to go with the upping of pace before 2f out but never stopped plugging on and got to the fading El Muqbil late on. 11/1 despite Dettori riding and first leg of a long priced 4-timer for the jockey on the day. |
