SUMMARY
GF going produced by watering as 10mm on 16-17th and 4mm on the previous day plus 1mm of rain. Stalls Far Side and rail apparently in and track at full width [check --]. 8.6 on the Going Stick. Light breeze as a three-quarter headwind from the right.

Hannon website before the race = "Hughesie rides Right Result, who is by Acclamation, one of the sires of the moment, and he has been going well, while Sixx, named after what they tell me is a popular bitter, is a Royal Applause colt owned by Barry Bull, and he, too, is ready for a run."

Hannon Website the day after the race = "It came as a bit of a surprise when Sixx (10-1) overturned Right Result (2-5) at Salisbury - even to the boss. He added:'Right Result had looked the sharper of the two at home, and we thought Sixx, who is still on the weak side, might need it more. However, I could not be more delighted for Barry Bull and Steve Lamb, who owns Sixx, and doubtless they will be celebrating with the beer after whom they named the colt. So many of ours are needing their first run as, like everyone else, we have not been able to work on the grass, but there are plenty of bonus races coming up, and Right Result might pop up in one of them."

Slower pace early and Fallon on Sixx took the initiative after 2f to cross to the rail and control the race. Able to make an ok effort and hold off Right Result who ran a bit green and took time to get going. Uninformative as to the better of the pair and both probably OR70+.

Light Burst the fourth debut of the season for Zarooni in two days and another negative for having a good plan to implement. First runner of the season too fizzy in the prelims and spent 25+ mins frittering energy away before the race. Showed ok ability but faded a lot in the last 1f. One ok debut which was both competent and challenged but in a slow race with no pressure. 10 minutes before this race Dettori ridden filly at Sandown veered completely across the track and back. Light Burst a real positive in Review but also too fizzy. Very strongly built and another positive for her FSS. But trying to run too free early on and Ajtebi had a fight with her to haul her back to last in a slower race. Then got unbalanced and wallowed around in the later stages when a competent finish would have seen her involved. Ought to be one to follow but trainer not good at progressing horse from FTO when they are less 'wild' than this. In 2010 trainer Zarooni started earlier and had 11 debuts between May 8th to 22nd. These 11 a mixed group on quality and produced just 4 season winners along with 3 placers, two unplaced and two sole runs. The 11 managed just 4 solid places FTO. After that things settled down into a more consistent set of debuts with most making the 2nd to 4th range but no FTO win until the better ones came along in later June. Similar mix of quality and competence in the 4 so far. Worth thinking about with all four debuts in the 6/4 to 4/1 range and overbet again.

Verse Of Love a solid size and not ready for the day. Not one of the cheap rabbits he has. Able to keep reasonable tabs on the others in the 2f sprint without looking a 5f type. Trainer front-loads his usable ones very notably and later debuts mostly a long tail of garbage with the odd usable one in. VOL looks likely to be usable.
