SUMMARY
£10k Bonus Race.

Races on outer straight course with rails Centre track. Going Stick reading 7.2 having been 7.0 the preceding day. Medium Breeze as a Half Headwind from the Left.

Meehan on his Website = "She's Flawless - Very nice filly who will probably improve for this initial run."

Dascombe on a small message service just over 1 hour before the race = "Switcher is in what looks a good race but this is a filly with a future..."

Similar to the previous day the Field finishing tired and extended distances back from the placed fillies and essential to stay 6f. Going Stick a notch faster compared to yesterday's Auction race and this winner carrying 5lbs more. On the other side the Headwind a little less lively on the day and this race run down the Centre-Stands' strip so on an entirely different part of the track to the previous day. Time looks good compared to the following 3yo 0-80 Classified Stakes one by an OR80 rated 5TO also for Dascombe (made all). That winner ran only 0.54s quicker carrying the same weight minus 3lbs apprentice allowance.

Race produced yet another knock for the ASCT fillies' maiden that Represent almost won. Four fillies finished clear of the 5th there and in a 4-way photo. The winner being the only one on STO. The three fillies on debut in that photo have all been beaten STO with My Lucky Liz unplaced at WDSR (behind the 5th from ASCT who produced the 2nd best effort but faded), Toffee Tart beaten at 2/13fav in a weak Bath race 50 minutes before this race. Represent a narrow bodied, rangy one, by the sire and not stand out in this group. Along with the defeats for the other ASCT fillies and being up to 6f in staying conditions this probably led to a range of horses being supported to beat her.

[UPDATE = Mick Channon on his website May 23rd = "Insignia Racing suffered disappointments with Represent at Haydock and Signifer at the Curragh. Both did too much early on and found no cover - the sort of showing that can make you look a prat, but they are alright. I've no long term concerns, just bitter disappointment at the moment."] NOTE = Signifer beaten in the 5f Listed Marble Hill Stakes at the Curragh. While he did run in front rank he did so with the winner - Power - trained by Aiden O'Brien who saw Signifer off then responded to a leter challenge from a pouncer to win. Perhaps the defeat had something to do with Signifer racing against better horses.....
