£10k Bonus Race. Stiff Breeze as a Half Headwind from the Right in the Home Straight. Direct headwind on the Downhill section. Hannon = 'We have so many two-year-olds ready to roll, so it's good that the six furlong maiden has split. Redact is a smashing Strategic Prince colt who has done some good work on the gallops, while Dark Angel is a sire doing really well and we like his colt,Gadreel. Slow pace with jockey Holland on Maltease Ah settling the pace and turning the race into an uninformative short sprint in the straight. Illaunglass talked up as a real better one by Noseda and expected to win. Took time to get on top given the race shape although did have the advantage of racing near the centre strip. Did nothing here to look startling but preume capable of better. Placed form in the race does not amount to much and not ones to follow although Quick Bite has a bit more size. Maltease Ah neat and ready and will win at lower level, probably at WTON. More general interest in the development potential of Responsive & Gadreel than the others behind the winner. The first and early Morrison runner so should be competitive at OR70+ and debuts often moderate to poor followed by a STO blossoming. Gadreel a slow starter like the Hannon winner of Div I but in a slow race where the prominent horses never stopped. Jockey tried to make the same wide run and centre effort in the straight but worryingly little happened before being eased. 16/1 SP a bit worrying as well. See how the Market goes STO. |
