SUMMARY
For 2yos by sires whose Sales Median is up to £27,000.

Stalls on Stands' rail. Lighter Breeze on day as a direct Headwind. Class 6 handicap at 4:40pm on day won in 61.77s by OR60 6yo carrying 4lbs more than this winner. But, this the first race of the day and field raced stands' rail until the runners started hanging left in the last 1.5f and the leading three finishing together towards centre course. Following 8f race saw the field race Centre track. The 5f handicap later in the afternoon had a big field spread across much of the track. The whole field went Far Side and raced beyond Centre track so raced on a different part of the track. In recent seasons on faster going there has been a bit of Magic Carpet up the Stands' rail (that could make anything look 10-20lbs better than they were) and the Stands-Centre strip has genrally been faster than the Sticky Carpet from Centre track to Far side.

Best break from MMissile and able to establish a lead comfortably and settle into a rhythm (jockey Kingscote mostly good at front-running rides and again set a usable pace to suit himdelf as he did at KTNA yesterday). Raced in lane 1 with Ortea being bustled up after a slower break to sit within half a length of the leader on the rail. FTOpt broke ok but then went a bit left from a wide draw. Sat within 1.5L of the lead at halfway but always a little green and Fallon niggling him along at times. Shevington a medium-small sprinter and green in the preliminaries. Lost 2L at the start and another niggled along at times. Just over 2L behind at halfway on the rail. Final 2f played out like a 2f sprint off a usable pace. MMissile able to increase the pace and delay his full effort until 1.5f out. Engaged by the green FTOpt at that point and this pair duelling until slowing int he final 0.5f and then FTOpt stalled late on and Fallon eased again losing another place. Both hanging left during the duel. Shevington green when asked to make his effort and then plugging on within 2L of the leading pair until they started to slow in the last 0.5f. This allowed him to plug on to join them late on and nick 2nd. Ortea a tame effort in being outpaced at 2f out and fading early given the pace. A closely matched race on the day and the Dascombe horse being the most knowing and well ridden made the difference.

Indecisive Market with four of the field disputing favouritism. FTOpt the shortest price on Betfair in the morning but then drifting on-course. The Stubbs' get odd FTO wins but usually by accident or in soft races. Which made the short prices early seem like they think this one is good. But, green in the prelims and in the race and not seeing the race out as a typical trainer debut would. Fallon never insists with 2yos normally either although gave this a relatively full ride. Shevington smaller than the other two and more green in the prelims which made him look a poor prospect at a short price. Another green debut from the trainer after a couple of ready ones and the horse not good enough, in context, to overcome that.
