GS going after 12mm of rain as showers in the previous 24 hours. Going stick 7.3 reading. Races on the Inner Straight course. Medium Breeze as a Three-Quarter Headwind from the right. Barolo Top able to outlast Wolf Spirit by superior fitness while looking the lesser ability of the two. Dascombe has his 2yos at full fitness and competing well this year after a moderate 2010 in his first year at new stables and gallops. Check how these wound up ones develop through the season. Wolf Spirit another better Ryan debut the Market knew about. Lost ground at the start but recovered comfortably and travelled best. Look the likely winner inside 2f out but started hanging which gave the fitter BTop the chance to get back to him. Presume OR88+ and bigger than the average 'Medium & Neat' type by his sire. Art Dezeko remains of interest as a development sprinter and much better than he has shown in three runs. Very bulky type and does not stay 6f and would expect him to go back to 5f at some point. Lasted longer here in the lead setting a solid pace. Visibly struggling to carry his weight when tired later on. Type of horse to still be being talked about as developing this time next year. Elkhart a typical Johnston indeterminate 6f debut. Showed some pace to sit within 1L of the lead at halfway. Outpaced at 2F out then fading notably. Better types tend to last longer but this one presumably a 7f+ type and see where he goes STO. Interesting if he turned up over 7f at SDWN or GDWD. Just a solid medium type. |
