SUMMARY
Good Going with Going Stick at 7.6 on Thu = UPDATE = or error? 6mm of rain overnight and 34mm total since the last Meeting. Light to Medium Breeze as a Headwind.

Weak Novice race with Arnold Lane an NR as the one horse with some size and development potential. Rest of field made up of precocious early season types lacking size plus the newcomer Cape Moss who has a bit more potential. Another BATH race won by the hold up horses and, of late, wtahcing races seems to show the leaders going 'pop' earlier and more tamely than would be expected. This race made even less quality with two smaller previous winners underperforming notably and perhaps needing a break after trying hard in recent races against better types. STBuffs did not appear to go that hard in the lead but fading early. Red Hearts has stuck at it well the last two runs when over-matched against bigger and better horses but none of that on show here and another to fold tamely. Which left the race open to be won with a moderate performance with TDL seller class and barely OR70 and Cape moss green and unbalanced late on. Betty Fontaine trundled through for a win here on debut with a hold up ride and similar here. Soundly beaten LTO trying to compete against bigger horses. Theis race not much faster than the preceding moderate auction race. Nothing much to be interested in for the future unles Cape Moss has more to show and you would worry how the others are going to compete in nurseries given how their early wins will be over-rated by the OR fixer.
