SUMMARY
£10k Bonus Race.

GGS going with 23mm of rain since 5:00pm Sat. Going Stick = 7.2 at 9:30am. Medium to Strong Breeze as a Tailwind to halfway then a Half Tailwind from the left in the Home Straight.

What has changed with Pat Murphy in 2011? Barely a 2yo runner 2002-10 and never more than one in a season and no win. Pressure Drop his third runner this year and his second win. Luv U Forever a STO winner after a promising 7th in a big field FTO. The other filly was a promising 5th in a bunch finish at LEIC at 100/1 and is declared for the Queen Mary two days later STO.

Not a Frantic pace but too stiff for the solid types in 1st-4th through halfway to finish the race off with all Fading by 0.5f out, at least. First three all stayed Far Side while Pressure Drop came more stands's side. Given that the winner lost a lot of ground at the start, was still 5L off the lead at halfway and ran on a different strip in the straight some niggles over whether an accidental FTO win but strength of effort in the straight suggests a good part due to ability.

Stepper Point travelled well for 3F+ on debut in a big field put under pressure by Magic City and looked promising as an OR70s (prob lower) 5f type. Up to 6f STO and ran much too freely. Trainer won this race in 2010 as his first 2yo win of the season and it tends to take into June for his early debuts to develop to win. SP travelled mostly ok here but responded to be being joined by Lana after 2F to increase the pace and kick the race off early. Produced the best effort at 2F out but fading by 0.5f out and caught as tiring.

Lana talked up as a better type by trainer before being an NR on her intended debut. Looking at the reports on his website he seems to have cooled on her and her work with the filly Correct (whom she was beating comfortably in May) now looking less good. But, an ok size and made an effort into the pace comfortably enough and a solid effort 2f out. Ok promise for the STO peak.

Night Angel smaller and lacking scope and had already shaown all she has to offer. Unable to go with the increase of pace by the leading two towards halfway and not seeing the race out. Has looked better with soft leads in her last two runs. OR68-71 so struggling.

Alnair an expensive one for the trainer and a good pedigree to be a sprint 2yo. Educational debut where they were trying to teach him to settle. Support here suggested they were going to let him compete here. But, in good condition and running too freely from the start and the jockey reverted to trying to haul him back and get him to settle. This got into a battle and he got unbalanced in the straight and unable to produce an effort properly. Solid type and better than he showed here if he can race more controlled.
