GGF going with Going Stick at 7.4 reading at 6:30am (12 hours before race). Medium to Stiff Breeze as a Crosswind fromt he left. Slightly unusual start to the Prescott batch of 2yo debuts. Initial debut batch normally the competitive 2yos that will include most of the winners. The majority of these will be 5-6f FTOs. The 7f debuts normally start in the later batches and will produce few, if any winners. Those that they do produce will be amongst the earliest (first or second of them) 7f debuts. He has started this year with an all-out useful zippy 5f filly followed by 2 x 7f debuts in his first batch. Both the 7f debuts look competitive types with a solid 2nd yesterday for what might be an OR85+ filly. Repeater a solid size and athletic but also very stupid and lary once he had got rid of his jockey TP. Ran around getting behind the other runners and sniffing their rears (they are all males, lad..). Needed two people to hang onto him once caught to stop him dragging one handler away. Jockey Sanders remarkably active in climbing back aboard this nuisance. Ran ok and clearly another competitive winner rather than a 3yo handicap set-up type. Runners for Cheveley Park and Kirsten Rausing this early more likely to be usable 2yos and possibles for better types to get his small set of FTO wins. |
