SUMMARY
£10k Bonus Race

SGS going with 15mm of rain in last 24hrs. Going Stick 8.5 at 6:15am. Stalls Centre track. Medium to Stiff Breeze as a Crosswind from the right.

Ladykin Cmf lead at slower pace and handled conditions best and ran straightest in 2f sprint. Left with job of holding off the smaller Letsgoroundagain with the other four having problems. Able to respond to his challenge and LGRA a sub-75 placer. Also gave trouble in thge Parade Ring and got loose and took a little bit of catching. Went TP late and alone.HRW shorter and heavy build and appear not to handle going. Good shot of him scrabbling in front on the side-on VT as the -2f+ efforts starts and obvious he is not going to be able to pick up in that one shot. Tight Lipped has got outpaced then plugged on again in previous two races and this 2F sprint set-up perhaps against him. But, started hanging left as soon as the 2F sprint started and another to not pick up.
TGDCom another free-runner and handled the going but appeared not to stay 5f fully free-running in the leading pair. Let alone 6f. How bad was the Brocklesby? Thirkleby an ok sprinter type but green throughout and never going smoothly because of that and presumably not balanced on the going. Fading because of that but worth another chance on better going. Apostle at the post for a long time waiting for LGRA to join them and being trotted around for a lot of the wait. Eventually WD when field went behind to start loading and presumably because the lost front shoe was noticed. 35p/£ Rule 4 deduction.

Fahey in his Sporting Life weekend blog starting with some general comments on the current form of his horses = "We hadn't had a winner for 52 runners before Pleasant Day won at Ripon and I'm a little bit worried about them. They're running okay in places but it was a long losing streak, I can't remember one this bad in my training career. Hopefully we'll get a couple more winners soon and it will all be forgotten. I'm happy with the horses, but there have been a few I felt sure would win and they haven't done. They say you go through these stages but I'm not used to it. I'm quite happy to run them - there's nothing seriously wrong with them - and if there is something I need to tweak I haven't found it yet. We've tested them all and they're fine, perhaps we just need a bit of luck.
One of the owners of Holy Roman Warrior says there's a lot of rain forecast and his horse needs it as I won't run him on fast ground in the Real Radio European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes at 1605. It's quite a competitive race, I see Michael Bell's sending Apostle up and he'll be tough to beat. Mine should improve plenty from his first run as he's a big, lazy horse. We're pleased with him, and if it rains I can see him giving Apostle a race. Ladykin runs in the same race and she also ran well first time out. She doesn't show a lot at home but the form of her maiden is working out as the first two were Shumoos and Frederick Engels. I'd be surprised if she was up to that class and Paul has picked the other horse but if it doesn't rain he'll probably jump onto her. She needs to improve to worry Apostle though.
