£10k Bonus Race. GSG with reading 7.6 at 4:15pm yesterday = UPDATE. 72mm of rain in last 8 days. Rail OUT on Stands' Side by 16ft to the 2.5F mark and a cutaway. Going changed to Soft after this race. Medium to Stiff Breeze as a Three-Quarter Headwind from the Left. Hannon on his website = "We have so many two-year-olds still to run, so we will be three-handed in the 7f opener at Salisbury. Pink Sapphire has the benefit of a previous race, and, though she had worked so well at home that we were a bit disappointed when she finished only fourth at Haydock, the race was won by Shumoos, who went on to finish second in the Queen Mary, and the runner-up was Frederick Engels, who won the Windsor Castle, so, in hindsight, we probably found a hot race for starters. Pink Sapphire will have learned plenty from that debut and should be hard to beat, while the two newcomers, Shannon Spree, who is by Royal Applause, and Make Up, a Kyllachy filly of Julie Wood's who has been progressing in her work, are ready for a run" |
